Perform at your best

The fourth discipline

Nutrition is often talked about as the fourth discipline in Triathlon. I never truly appreciated the importance of getting this right. Let’s face it, it is hard these days to maintain the balance.

Do modern diets serve us?

There are so many temptations in modern life and convenient alternative foods available which are cheap and nutritionally depleted. Often they are added to just to make them last longer on the shelf or ‘taste’ better.  On top of that, most of us are living busy lives and don’t always have the time to do food prep and consistently maintain a balanced approach easily.

Not feeling your best?

The result is often a lack of energy, poor sleep, weight gain, to name but three. None of these are helpful in performing well in our day to day lives or in a sport.

Consider your options

In my posts, I am simply going to tell my story and how I have managed to take back control of nutrition in my life and the impact it has had on my overall health, well-being, and performance in Triathlon.

I hope my stories and insights inspire you to think twice. Perhaps you will reconsider your options and be open to other ways of feeling satisfied and full of energy. Are you?

Thanks Hil, it has been incredible so far. You have been a real inspiration to me; starting with you and Debbie inviting me to the motivational lecture from Mark Coulbourne MBE (Olympic Gold Medalist) to hear his story; it was the kick start I needed at the time, and you have all now become real friends and supporters. Thanks for your unrelenting encouragement.
