Make a splash

Just get started

Getting started in Triathlon can seem like a daunting dream. For many people, the idea of swimming 10 lengths in a pool let alone taking the plunge in a lake or the sea forces people to think twice. I was one of those people. OK, I could swim and I have always enjoyed the pool. However, for years I couldn’t overcome the idea of being able to swim more than 60 lengths enjoyably. This was partly driven by not being able to breathe comfortably swimming front crawl and knowing that this was the main stroke that every triathlete. Experienced pool and open water swimmers make it look so effortless.

Don’t let fear get in the way

My message though is don’t let your fears stand in the way of your dreams. It really is all about mindset and it you want something enough you can find a way to achieve it.  Just get help from others and don’t be afraid to give it a go.  There will be so many people eager to help you along the way.

Find a passion

Triathlon must be one of the most inviting newcomer sports in the last 10 years and its popularity has grown enormously. There are so many places to www.GoTri.org. I would encourage everyone who has an inkling about it to just make that decision and start with a few lengths and build from there.

Share your intention

I plan to blog about my experiences as an amateur triathlete without any real talent but with big ambitions and a desire to continually improve myself.  It will help me learn more about what I can achieve whilst I have the opportunity and health do so.  Hopefully, by following my story, you might take some inspiration from my insights, ups, and downs.  It is all part of the process.

Absolutely…make it a goal and you will crack it. There a so many good GoTri events to enter and you will smash it. My top tip is to start small and build from there. Check out the link at the bottom on the main blog page.
